Pamela Platt has been painting her entire lifetime following in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother. Graduating from Rhode Island School of Design in 1985, she has been working professionally as a fine artist, designer, fresco restorer, color consultant, teacher and decorative painter for 38 years.
Pamela is an artist whose work is rooted in painting and design. She is directly inspired by nature, color, texture and light/shadow of the environs in which she lives and has traveled to. Pam's work is also influenced by the realms of dreams, mystery, intuition and the sub-conscious. She is interested in how these various worlds intersect, merge or contrast. Pamela moves between interior/exterior painting in private and public spaces to creating studio art work of bold colors swirling wildly on paper to more quiet and contemplative pieces. Her work is made on paper, wood panels, mica panels, plaster, walls, ceilings and floors using various paints, pigment, metal leaf, plasters and American Clay. |
